New regulation in Germany aims to hold businesses accountable for environmental and human rights violations in their supply chains. The Supply Chain Due Diligence Act may become a prototype for future European Union regulations that could have the same impact for environmental, social, and governance that the General Data Protection Regulation has had for privacy. It's also a new compliance area for internal audit plans.
